WALNUT - LEATHER - STEEL - BRASS

This piece expresses a strong, single directional movement with its solid walnut side profile. In this current state, it is as if the chair is speeding along its journey and witnessed only as a snapshot in time. The passenger is cradled in a leather sling, intertwined in a continuous steel loop.

The fabrication process allowed for design iteration and the exploration of new techniques. A 1:10 model and a 1:1 prototype, built of less costly material, provided useful insights for final design decisions pertaining to comfort and strength while maintaining the conceptual idea. Also, assisting in the streamlining of the fabrication process through jigs and fixtures.
